STEWARDSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
What is Stewardship?
You may know them as "Service Hours" or "Volunteer Hours." Well, here at St. Pius X Campus Ministry, we call them Stewardship Hours. Our goal with Stewardship Hours is to remind us that we are called to be good stewards of our community. In Genesis 2:15, God tells Adam and Eve to "keep and till" the garden, to care for it so that it is fruitful. In the same way, we are called to care for our garden, our communities, keeping and tilling so that we are fruitful.
Part of being fruitful in this community is building relationships and ties to people in this community. The Parish used to be the center of town, the focal point of a community. We want St. Pius to be a positive impact and a place where everyone feels safe and loved. We want our families to build those relationships so that St. Pius X can be another home for families. With this in mind, we ask that the majority of a family's hours are done on our St. Pius X campus. It is important, however, that we bring Jesus to others and bring others to Christ through service and acts of love. We do allow a maximum of four hours to be done outside of the community. That's not to say you can't do more! But of the stewardship hours that are recorded, only four hours done outside of the community will count towards the required hours.

Stewardship Opportunities
Holy Grounds | after every Sunday Mass
To help out with Holy Grounds on Sundays, we ask that the youth check in with us at the kiosk 15 minutes before Mass, and then join us at the kiosk after attending Mass with their families. We give them at least one hour for working the one Mass, even though sometimes there is only about 15-20 minutes worth of work to do. If the youth stay longer after that, then we will give them hours based on how long they stay. One of the Holy Grounds managers will sign off on hours. Hospitality Ministers | needed for every Mass Check in with the hospitality ministers at your regular Mass, they may need your help greeting and sanitizing afterwards. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before Mass. Participants will earn as many stewardship hours for as long as they are there for both parents and youth. Auxiliary Core Team Opportunity for parents: Assisting with youth group as safety team, prayer warriors, attendance taker, translators, organizers, Core Team substitutes, and even Core Team members! Please let me know if you plan on coming so I can plan on you. Landscaping | Saturdays 7:30am-12:30pm All are invited -- parents, students, family members -- to come help maintain the beauty of our campus! The group will be working all around campus, but typically start off with a meeting under the solar panels. Bring gardening tools: gloves, weeding tools, etc. This group does not meet regularly so please be sure to sign up if interested so we can let you know when they are gathering. |
